Folks In Jul and Aug I sent Ed and others my request for expanding the existing email capabilities in AT. I'll paste my email below, but if you agree post here and PLEASE email Ed@nirvsys.com Thanks! Buffalo +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Hello Here is a Cut'N'Paste of emails I sent in Jul/Aug. I am sending it again because I received no response AND this issue hit me again on Monday. It is important! I left for my Sao Paulo trip sat, got back today. When I left OT was up and running, AT on, broker connected ready to live trade my acct come monday (as usual). I have over $80k in live trades on going that OT is managing. BUT OT broke itself - it had overflow errors while running the to do (using AT) Monday AM, therefore it took HOURS to finish and didn't get done. That means the exits in my $80 in positions were NOT being monitored! NOT GOOD. This is not the first time this EXACT issue has hit me - see email from Aug 13th below. Had I gotten an email warning from AT saying "OT encountered an error while running..." or something I could've intervened, restarted OT and gotten it up and running before mkt open (I use logmein thru a laptop) Please let me know what you think Thank you Bill Leake 331019, Club and ATM Elite So here is a recap of emails from Jul and Aug on this issue: I am asking for the email capability already built into OT to be EXPANDED. Maybe have a list of options w/ checkboxes on what types of emails we want to get. Like any errors, orders (entries and/or exits) Add capability (user selectable w/checkboxes?) to have OT EMAIL you if OT has an error while AT is engaged. This just happened to me today, on my live trading platform. Look at the attched OT log - OT broke itself (as it often does) so it took over 2 hours to do it's initial run this AM (it's set to run at 805am EST and submit trades when done). So instead of finishing at 830, due to the contstant, recurring overflow error it finished at 1050. No entries is not good but worse is it couldn't track EXITS all this time. Very not good. Had I gotten an email from OT that there was an error when it first hit at 808am I could've shut it down, restarted and been ok today. As of 1245pm NONE of my stops have been monitored all day, not to mention no entries today. Please add on functionality that if AT is engaged OT will email the user when ANY error crops up It started at 8:08 am and continued for 2.5 hrs straight, every minute or so: 7/15/2021 8:08:28 AM Error 6: Overflow Occurred in routine 1272 - mdiMain.frm .ProcessIsCanceled_PropGet Please note this error or send a copy of 'OT.log' to: I have a suggestion to improve OT & AT for those of us who try to use OT and AT to trade in non-OT brokerages. I try to use one OT build to trade my schwab 401k but it is not working very well. It is difficult to accurately and timely keep up with the entries and exits, esp when I am working. To see any entry/exit signal one has to get on OT, open the AT log, select the date, open the log and scrool to the end to see what might be there. If you at work you have to open and boot up laptop, login to something like logmein to get to your OT then get to the logs. After that you of course have to enter the order in your brokerage. With OT managing stops it is VERY easy to miss exits. I know from experience. AT has emailing capability built into it already - but it only emails you to-do is complete and trades are submitted (but not what trades, even if there are none). Nothing more. We get NO OT/AT notification on exits. I would LOVE it, and think it would be VERY beneficial, if we could expand on the emailing capability already built into AT and combine it with the data collecting that is already done to compile the log files and have AT (this could be user selectable) email us for ANY AT and ATM entry or exit signals immediately. The entries are compiled in the log and OT knows when an exit is fired and what stop was triggered. Even if it is just "long entry on EDU" (bonus points for adding something like "for 295 shares") or "exit signal on TSLA" (Bonus points if it added which stop i.e. "FL stop triggered"). We can get more info on the actual signal from the log like market state, strategy, etc and which stop from the chart so minimal info is required but more is better. The capability is built in. It really is needed. I have basically stopped trying to trade my 401k with my ATM macro & micro because I miss too many entries and exits, but I really really want to continue. If I got these types of emails, even at work, running errands or on the road all I would have to do is log into my schwab acct and execute what the email tells me. That is easy to keep up, fairly timely with and much, much less cumbersome and hard to miss (barring email failure but that is what it is). Please consider this idea. It seems relatively easy for your coders to add.

I fully agree. I won't send another Email to Ed, since it will just annoy him ... I'm confident that this post from you will elicit a response. It's my feeling that OT's monitoring of itself needs to be more intelligent ... AND that the user should be given OPTIONS as to what actions OT should take if something amiss occurs ... or (in your case) fails to occur in a reasonable period of time. THE USER SHOULD BE GIVEN THE OPTION TO CONFIGURE OMNITRADER TO AUTOMATICALLY *CLOSE* ANY TRADES AFFECTED BY SUCH EVENTS. Some users may not want this ... but others would prefer the comfort level of knowing that their trades are NEVER UNMANAGED, even if OT functions incorrectly. That's what "automation" is ... or should be ... all about.
