Method Courses

Trading Methods provide the core trading curriculum in Omni Trader University. It’s where “the (trading) rubber meets the road.”

While building the Methods concept, we had the following important goals in mind:

  1. Only teach high probability Trading Methods.
  2. Keep the Method as simple as possible.
  3. Provide support materials for instruction.
  4. Provide sufficient time to practice with the Method in interactive trading sessions.
  5. Record all instructional and trading sessions so students can watch again later.
  6. Provide direct feedback to students so they learn as they apply the Method.
  7. Provide an effective way for students to meet and interact with each other.

Trading Methods are not just a two-hour seminar - they are an entire regimen built around teaching students how to trade them, with mentoring and coaching during the process to ensure that everyone “passes” the class!

Following the presentation of the instructional material, students have the opportunity to learn while doing, as they trade with the Method.

Interactive Trading Sessions

In these Trading Methods courses, we actually TRADE THE MARKETS each week, review ongoing trades and adjust positions, using the concepts taught in the course.

Following the procedures defined in the Method, we review candidates together, talk about specifics in each chart, and make trading decisions as a group. This way everyone can learn as the trades play themselves out in the market. And of course money management and portfolio balancing are all a part of the exercise. All sessions will be recorded and available on the O.T.U. website.

310 - Riding the Tide: The Trend Trading Method

In Riding the Tide: The Trend Trading Method, we will provide a complete approach to the market that takes advantage of trading in a trending market. If the market is in a trending mode, we want to take advantage of this overwhelming sentiment and find the stocks that will provide the largest gains in the shortest amount of time.

Riding the Tide covers all aspects of trend trading. We will look at how to not only determine the overall market’s trend direction, but also how strong the trend is as well as the quality of the trend. Once we know the market’s trend characteristics, we want to see which groups are currently outperforming the market. And finally, we will identify the stocks in those groups that are really poised to post big gains.

311 - The Trading Lab Method: Trading the Moves in Real Time

In the Trading Lab, you’ll see our successful trading staff present their complete approach to intraday trading. Their method leverages components of Nirvana’s Real Time Trading technology such as ProfitBands and MarketScans.

The Lab staff will show you the profitable technical setups that they use to time their Real Time entries. You’ll learn about Intraday Trend Identification, Powerful Chart Patterns, Multiple Timeframe Confirmation, and much more.

Along with the course, you will be given full access to the Trading Lab for August and September to see how The Lab identifies profitable intraday moves every trading day.

301 - Swing Trading for Consistent Profits

In Swing Trading for Consistent Profits we will provide a complete approach to the market that takes advantage of short term trading opportunities. Swing trades typically last between two and seven days, as they capture quick profits from short term market imbalances.

The Swing Trading Method will start by teaching you how to identify profitable swing trading opportunities, and how to manage those trades to completion. The course then goes beyond simple entry and exit timing as we cover other tools that can boost the profitability of the Swing Method. You’ll learn how to get the best possible List of stocks to swing trade, which Plug-Ins and Modules give us the best Swing Trading Signals, and a set of techniques you can use to manage a portfolio consisting of multiple Swing trades.

302 - Position Trading for Long Term Gains

There are many advantages to trading with the longer term trends, including lower transaction costs and favorable tax treatment for trades held longer than a year. Holding positions to take advantage of a primary trend is called position trading. In this course, we will look at the best ways to successfully position trade with OmniTrader and VisualTrader.

We will cover how to identify stocks and ETFs that are likely to trend, the best Strategies to use for entry Signals, how to apply multiple timeframe analysis and specific ways to protect profits and manage risk through portfolio balancing.

NTB Charts were introduced in 2012, and give users a powerful new way to evaluate longer term trends. In the course, we will cover which NTB Charts generate the best results, and how to apply Trade Management techniques to them.

305 -Trading Stocks in Real Time

In this course, OmniTrader is used to prospect for great Signals and trade the Real Time Markets. Starting with simple Signals and methods, the course builds with more and better Confirmation Techniques, and Trade Management is applied. The course will be held LIVE in the market.

You will see methods demonstrated using the Real Time Stocks Strategies and other prospecting ideas in the actual market.

306 - Profiting from Opening Gaps

Overnight buying or selling can create strong market pressures. When the pressure is released, a market can temporarily become unstable as it seeks equilibrium. This situation causes some specific chart patterns and behaviors that are VERY obvious, and that we can profit from. In this course, we will study the different Opening Gap scenarios, and then go into the live market and trade them!

307 - Enhance Your Returns with Covered Calls

Whether a trader is looking for leverage, protection, or preservation of capital, there is an Options Method that can accommodate the goal. In this course, we will explain how to sell Covered Calls against existing positions in our portfolio, for the purpose of increasing income and reducing risk.

Our approach builds off recent research into the profitability of the Covered Call trade. We take a statistical approach to determine which Covered Calls give the most performance given the current market conditions. We also develop a series of tactics that let us squeeze the most profit from our covered writes.

308 - Profiting with E-mini Contracts in Real Time

The E-mini Contracts provide a great way for investors to participate in the extended moves indexes make 2-3 times a week.

In this course, we will look at Strategies that identify specific setups, different ways to enter positions, and how to protect capital. All of the primary E-mini Contracts will be covered, and we will trade them in the live market during the course.

309 - The Forex Method: An Introduction to Trading the FX Market

The Forex market provides us with opportunities around the clock. Here at Nirvana Systems we have moved resource to focus on this market and look to continue to make strides in helping our customers engage Forex trading successfully. This course will help our customers learn the basics of this market and provide them a simple method to capture gains at the optimal time to trade Forex.
