Been wondering the same thing. It would not surprise me if there was no 2025 update. It is my understanding that Nirvana is moving resources away from more indicators, plug-in's, etc. to advanced automated trading. After all, what's left to include? Nirvana already has products covering every aspect of trading. Certainly nothing more in that area that I need. If that is indeed the case, I think it's the right move. While I have always enjoyed the excitement of a new OmniTrader update, maybe it's time to move on to focus resources on the actual trading itself. We'll see. Just my opinion.

OmniFunds has been the focus as of late, but there is an OT2025 in the works.

As a long-time user of OT/VT since 2003, I've appreciated the ongoing Nirvana Systems product advancements, additions, and updates. This includes OmniFunds. However, I am very much a hands-on manual trader and prefer the platform's unique user-friendly ability to manually tweak strategies, customize filters, chart templates, trade plans, etc. Hoping this "old school" OT trading approach will continue.

Would you kind enough to lend your experience. What is a plug-in that actually works reasonably well. I have looked at rhino , ETF concensus, Supertrend, are there any others to explore.
There seems to be talk outside this group about momentum stocks as reasonably trades

"Hi Bazz, thanks for sharing your insights! To provide more tailored suggestions, could you share a bit more about your trading preferences? What vehicle do you typically trade (stocks, forex, futures)? Also, what time frame do you focus on for your trades, and how much time per week are you able to dedicate to your trading activities?

Many of the successful plug-ins out there focus on mean reversion or swing trading strategies. These can work well if you’re looking to capture price movements within a range or react to temporary overextensions. If that aligns with your approach, there are several plug-ins that could offer value, especially if you’re trading in more volatile markets where momentum stocks tend to shine."

Hi Frank,
Daily stocks, too early in the morning to trade although market closes at 7am in Australia at the moment. So taking advantage of daily.
Do not use reversion to mean .

Hi Bazz, thanks for the details! It sounds like you focus on daily stocks, which is great for catching larger market moves with a bit more time to analyze. Since you're not using mean reversion strategies, I was curious—are you against using reversion to mean strategies, or just prefer to avoid them for other reasons? This might help narrow down the best plug-ins for your style.

Regards

Frank

Hi Bazz,

Thanks for the update on your trading style. Since you’re focusing on daily stocks and confirming your signals with platforms like TradingView and VectorVest, I have a couple of plug-in suggestions that may be worth exploring for your swing trading approach.

Momentum Pro: This plug-in is ideal for identifying stocks with significant momentum shifts. It helps pinpoint stocks that are moving strongly in one direction, allowing you to enter trades before the market fully reacts. Momentum Pro is great for swing trading as it helps you spot high-probability opportunities where momentum is already in your favor. This is a mechanical plug-in, meaning it will provide clear buy and sell signals based purely on momentum without manual intervention from entry through to exit.

Momentum Pro
Swing Trader: Specifically built for swing trading, this plug-in identifies stocks that are positioned in favorable buy or sell zones within a trend. It focuses on finding optimal entry points and exit zones, allowing you to capture medium-term price movements. Like Momentum Pro, Swing Trader is also mechanical, providing automated signals for entry and exit. However, since these plug-ins are primarily designed for the US market, their effectiveness in the Aussie market isn't fully known. Therefore, it's crucial to incorporate confirmation tactics when using them in your strategy.

Swing Trader
Confirmation Tactics:
To ensure accuracy in your trades and to adapt these plug-ins for the Aussie market, I recommend incorporating additional confirmation techniques:

Moving Averages: Use a combination of short-term and long-term moving averages to confirm trends. The 50-period and 200-period SMAs are popular choices to validate the direction of the market.

RSI (Relative Strength Index): RSI can help confirm whether a stock is overbought or oversold, providing further confirmation of momentum and trend strength. This is especially useful when working with automated signals from Momentum Pro and Swing Trader.

MACD (Moving Average Convergence Divergence): MACD crossovers can help validate entry and exit points, offering a second layer of confirmation for trades initiated by the plug-ins.

Color Chart for Confirmation:
To better visualize the strength and direction of trends, consider using a color-coded chart that highlights different market conditions. For example:

Green: Strong bullish trend
Red: Strong bearish trend
Yellow: Neutral or sideways market
This visual aid can help quickly confirm the signals generated by the Momentum Pro and Swing Trader plug-ins and ensure they align with the overall market sentiment.

These plug-ins, combined with confirmation tactics like moving averages, RSI, and MACD, will help you refine your swing trading strategy. However, given that these tools are designed with US markets in mind, it's important to monitor their performance in the Aussie market and adapt your approach accordingly.
Hope this helps.

Regards

Frank

Hi Bazz,

I’ve taken a deeper look into some plug-ins that could really enhance your swing trading strategy on Australian stocks, and I’ve got a couple of exciting recommendations for you. These tools are designed to automate your trading process while providing powerful insights for optimal entries and exits.

1. Swing Trader Plus
If you’re looking for a comprehensive solution tailored specifically for swing trading, Swing Trader Plus is a great fit. This plug-in offers a complete package, combining automated trade signals and stock analysis. It’s designed to spot high-probability swing trade setups and could be a game-changer for your end-of-day strategy.

Key features:

Automated Trade Signals: Receive actionable buy and sell signals based on sophisticated analysis.
Comprehensive Swing Trading Strategy: This solution integrates seamlessly with your current trading setup, offering optimal entries and exits for swing trades.

2. XLS-19 V2
Another plug-in that stands out is XLS-19 V2, designed for momentum traders. This tool has shown excellent performance in both trending and sideways markets, making it perfect for your mechanical trading system. It’s optimized for reduced overnight exposure while helping you catch high-momentum moves, which aligns with your strategy of confirming signals before making trades.

Key features:

Momentum-Based Signals: Designed to capture price momentum, ensuring you’re trading with the market’s flow.
Optimal Entry & Exit Points: It focuses on precision entries and minimizes the time spent in trades, reducing exposure.
Proven Track Record: The XLS-19 strategy has demonstrated consistent returns, even during volatile market conditions.

Why These Plug-ins Could Be Perfect for You:
Both of these plug-ins align perfectly with your mechanical approach to trading. They’re designed to automate the process and give you the tools to focus on high-probability trade setups. Since you’re already using end-of-day data, these solutions will complement your strategy by offering clear, actionable signals with minimal manual input.

One important note: You might have to amend your trade plans to suit your trading preferences. Specifically, you'll need to decide when you want to place and exit trades—whether it’s at the close of the bar (market close) or the open of the bar (market open). This can have a significant impact on your overall performance, as timing plays a big part in maximizing your swing trading opportunities. You might have to amend your trade plan for this to work effectively, so it's essential to fine-tune this aspect for the best results.

Even though these plug-ins are mechanical, I recommend adding confirmation tactics to enhance the signals. Since these tools were designed with the US market in mind, confirming trades with additional indicators or filters tailored to the Australian market will help refine your strategy and ensure better results.

Your 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee!
If you’re not completely satisfied with your purchase, you have a 30-day money-back guarantee! You can test out the plug-ins with confidence, knowing that you can get a full refund if they don't meet your expectations.

Next Steps:
Explore the Plug-ins: Dive into the features and see how each one fits into your current trading style.
Experiment with the Tools: Take advantage of the 30-day money-back guarantee to test these plug-ins in real-time conditions.
Both tools will help you increase accuracy, efficiency, and confidence in your trades. If you decide to move forward with them, you’ll have the power of automated signals combined with your personal trade confirmations.

Let me know if you’d like more details or if you need help getting started with any of the tools!

Best,

Frank

Hi Bazz,

I know its a long shot but there are many Omnitrader uses over your side of the pond.
Maybe worth setting up a group or just on this forum for internatinal users?

Regards

Frank
