The last few days I keep getting a data maintenance error issue. I normally wait for data maintenance to complete prior to any computer shut down so not sure what the actual error is. Log file attached. RonO ![]()

Well, you now got me to wondering: I have had the same identical thing happen to me repeatedly the last few days. Now, Thurs 10th, checked and it still appears on attempted start-up: ![]()

Not sure if anyone @ Nirvana is still monitoring these forums? Barry? These daily error messages are starting to become annoying, besides the fact that the data is not being maintained correctly. I doubt that there are only 2 of us with this issue. Can someone @ Nirvana take a look at this or provide some guidance as to how I can fix this myself? RonO

Yup; still getting the error message every time I start up OT'24 I have asked numerous questions recently in forums/circle; NEVER got a reply back to any, so eventually gave up. It has become a ONE-way street of communication. I have gone directly to Staff, and have found Nathan to be very helpful. Particularly in regard to OF2. For example, OF2 is not supposed to be charging money if funds under management is set to ZERO. But their buggy software charged me anyway. Eventually got the case refunded . . .

Seems to me that mostly all resources are going to OmniFunds and Omnivest. I get that companies need to evolve and change direction to stay competitive but it feels like loyal (club)members who are still OT & VT users are being left behind. Not sure if I will renew my Club Membership when it falls due. RonO

These forums for OT/VT are still being monitored. I apologize, I just missed this thread. I'll reply regarding the error shortly.

If you are getting the following error message in OmniTrader, here are the instructions to resolve it. Error -2146232832: Illegal characters in path. Occurred in routine 2522 - modTasks.bas .DownloadDataBatch There was a bad index symbol on the server that was introduced by our data vendor. We fixed it on the server, but if you had already downloaded data when it was introduced you will be seeing this error. There are 2 ways for customers to fix this. Both are listed below. Quickest Fix: 1. Close OmniTrader and browse to the following location on your computer C:\Program Files (x86)\Nirvana\OT2024\Dlls 2. In the DLL's folder locate and Double click in the icon called OMNIDATASETTINGS.exe 3. In the OmniDataSettings window that opens, click the ADD button under User Quotes/Splits Requests. 4. In the Add Server Request window that opens, click the Drop down menu next to DATE and select the date 2/13/25 and click ADD 5. Then click Save in the OmniData Settings Window, and then click the CLOSE button to exit the app. 6. Next Re-open OmniTrader. If you get a popup message requesting to do Data Maintenance, decline it and close that dialog box. 7. Then Click the TO DO LIST button and in the ToDoList Window, Click the Perform Selected Tasks button to download the latest data and let the whole process complete. Once the ToDoList data download process completes, the error problem should be resolved. Or Reinstall OmniData. This step is not necessary if the above fix was successful. Here are the steps to re-install your new OmniData installation. 1. Close OmniTrader, then Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Nirvana, and delete the “OmniData” folder. 2. Then click the link below to download the latest OmniData install: https://www.omnitrader.com/currentclients/OmniData/index.asp 3. Log-in with your Nirvana ID and Password. 4. Choose either Stocks, Indexes, Options & Funds or Stocks and Indexes only. 5. Click INSTALL to start the download of the installation file. 6. Once the download completes, run the file to launch the Install Shield Wizard. 7. When the Install Shield Wizard prompts you to choose either (REPAIR, MODIFY OR REMOVE), choose “REPAIR” and click NEXT. 8. After choosing REPAIR wait for the install to complete. 9. Then Launch OmniTrader. When asked if you would like to restore your custom scans from the automatic backup, choose YES. 10. Run the “ToDoList” to get the latest updated data. ![]() ![]()

There "appears" to be not connection to your post: --I have not seen: Error -2146232832: Illegal characters in path. Occurred in routine 2522 - modTasks.bas .DownloadDataBatch

Thank you Barry - that seems to have sorted the Data Maintenance Error. I also have data missing for the $DJI index for the 20th November 2024. How can I obtain the data for that date for that symbol only? I have tried using OmniDataSetting.exe however that will not work for me. Any help would be appreciated. RonO

Mark, the same fix may apply to you, have you tried it? Ron, the missing Nov 20 data for DJI is a known issue & we're working to fix it. It's not just you.
