Frank Birch![]() Posts: 171 Joined: 3/25/2006 Location: UK ![]() | Hi To all, My Journey with RSI & CCI Formulas in Trading Navigating the vast oceans of financial markets, I've always sought solace in the arms of reliable technical indicators. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) and the Commodity Channel Index (CCI) are my trusted companions on this journey. This narration is a tribute to these two legends and a glimpse into three RSI strategies I swear by: Extreme RSI Entry, RSI Reversal, and Versatile RSI Entry, along with their CCI counterparts. I've lovingly bundled these strategies into a nifty package, which I call the "Entry Indicator Suite." The RSI Formulas That Guide Me 1. My Extreme RSI Entry Filter My Formula: Long: RSI(PeriodsLong) < 30 Short: RSI(PeriodsShort) > 70 This filter is my go-to when scouting for assets swinging in extreme territories, signaling a potential comeback. How I Use It in Trading: It's my secret weapon in tumultuous markets, helping me latch onto potential price rebounds from extreme points. 2. My RSI Reversal Entry Indicators My Formula: Long: RSI(PeriodsLong)[BarCountLong] < 30 AND RSI(PeriodsLong) >= 30 Short: RSI(PeriodsShort)[BarCountShort] > 70 AND RSI(PeriodsShort) <= 70 This formula is my beacon for spotting assets showing early trend reversal signs. How I Use It in Trading: It's my ally in markets ripe for swift and significant reversals, ensuring I'm always in sync with the tide. 3. My Versatile RSI Entry Indicator My Formula: Long : RSI(Periods) > 30 Short : RSI(Periods) < 70 This friendly filter aids in spotting assets with a decent momentum. How I Use It in Trading: It's my trusted friend for various market scenarios, helping me ride the trend wave without the fear of sudden turns. My Trusted CCI Formulas 1. My Emerging Strength CCI Entry Filter My Formula: Long: CCI(PeriodsLong) > -100 Short: CCI(PeriodsShort) < 100 How I Use It in Trading: It's my early bird, helping me spot the worms based on emerging market strength, a kin to my Extreme RSI Entry Filter. 2. My CCI Reversal Entry Indicators My Formula: Long: CCI(PeriodsLong)[BarCountLong] < -100 AND CCI(PeriodsLong) >= -100 Short: CCI(PeriodsShort)[BarCountShort] > 100 AND CCI(PeriodsShort) <= 100 How I Use It in Trading: This formula is my trusted scout for timely and shrewd trades based on CCI movements. 3. My Balanced CCI Entry Indicator My Formula: Long: CCI(PeriodsLong) > -100 Short: CCI(PeriodsShort) < 100 How I Use It in Trading: This one is my steady ship in calm waters, pinpointing opportunities in stable trends without the distraction of extreme CCI values. It’s the fruit of my experience, combining RSI and CCI formulas, creating a rich tapestry of diverse entry points for both long and short trades. Please find attached a strategy block with all these formulas added for you to try out. Regards Frank Birch ![]()

Keith Parsons Durban NB I received an email from Tom Helget back in Sept 2013 whilst visiting Jim Dean in his home city Atlanta. At the end of the mail Tom wrote "so much to learn and so much to forget" How very true those words are.
