I assume you are talking about scans from other sources than Omnidata?

Here's a blurb on that:
Also, custom OmniScans are saved automatically & manually. The stocks.otd (which is a much larger file size) file mentioned above contains all OmniScans while the backups contain only the user created custom scans. To access the OmniScan backup & restore functions right-click any OmniScan list while inside OmniScan & select List Maintenance. The OmniScan backups are saved in the following locations:

Vista/Windows 7/8/10 - C:\ProgramData\NirvanaSystems\OmniScan

Otherwise, I get stock lists from other sites and often they have an export to excel. If so, I save it as a .csv and then do an import using file/import/symbol list/browse. I import it into an empty "My Symbols" list and then rename it to something appropriate.

If they don't have an excel import and you can save it as a text file you can then create a .csv.

I have not tested all variations but I have the best luck by pruning my .csv to just symbol and name.

Lookup post #19324 in the OTPro forum. There's a couple message that cover it well.
I went through the same thing trying to sync up OT on three computers.

Hi Larry

Do you know a way to search for a post by its number? I’ve never been able to figure that out. I think you need to provide a link. (Ie a url)

Jim,
I just tried it using the number (19324), checked subject and body, no time limit and it came up.

I had saved the post in Onenote say had it handy.

Tried it again and it look like I'm finding the reference to the number in the body. Whatever works!

When I tried it, the only thing that came up was this thread. With both subject and body checked, and no time limit.

Is it on this forum or a different one?

Fwiw - links always work ;-)

To access the OmniScan backup & restore functions right-click any OmniScan list while inside OmniScan & select List Maintenance. The OmniScan backups are saved in the following location:

C:\ProgramData\NirvanaSystems\OmniScan

Transfer the manual or auto backup file to the new machine to the same location. Go back to List Maintenance in OmniScan & perform the restore function.

You just need to create the ScanImports folder inside the ...Nirvana\OT2019 folder, then you can put the scans there & they will import upon opening OT2019.

Thank you Barry

I put them in the scan import folder and then opened OT - but nothing happened... then I checked the folder and the files were gone.

If they're gone they should have imported. Check your OmniScan custom folder.
