Support:

I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide explanations for the PutVal and CallVal parameters in OmniTrader:

There is no explanation for the parameter in the Option Module manual.

Thanks,

Tom Helget

Look on page 9-10 of the OptionTrader User Guide for the indicators.

Barry:

While pages 9-10 of the "Option Trader User Guide" does give a brief description of the Put Value and the Call Value there is no reference whatsoever to the Parameter Inputs of these Indicators.

What happens when "In the Money" is checked?

Does "Strike" refer to the next strike up or down? In the case of Put Value Up if "In the Money" is checked and Down if "In the Money" is not checked?

The Expiration parameter - is that in days to expiration?

And, here is the biggest mystery to me (I really don't know much about options) what in the heck is "Roll" and what are it's units of measurement - days maybe?

Thanks, any assistance you can provide would be appreciated.

Tom Helget

Hi Tom, can you help me with the answer to the already outdated question on Callval settings? I tried a lot, but didn't find any correlation to the option chain values so far....assuming that you received an answer on your question, of course.
Thanks in advance

Yeah, that still is a bit of a mystery.

Hopefully in "resurrecting" this thread maybe Barry or some other knowledgeable person with give a clear explanation of the parameters.

This is what I was able to find out...

The indicator returns the historical close price for the option model. If “In the money” is checked (unchecked), then it’s N strikes up (down). Expiration & roll are in days. Roll is how far out you pick the contract for calculations. All parameters are the same in OptionFinder & throughout the option model.
