I have copied OT to another computer for backup and travel.

I had created some stock spreads in Easydata but failed to get those in the copy. What file do I need for that?

I used Barry's post #5360 but it is from 2010 - is there an update?

Larry, for that you would need to copy over Symbols32.mdb from the ...Nirvana/Data folder.

Thanks, Barry but I did that and the spreads in Easydata didn't show up.

I copied the file while OT was running and while it appears intact maybe that is the reason?

That file cannot be replaced with OT open. If you were able to replace it with OT running, then it wasn't the right file.

To clarify I copied the file from the running OT and saved it to the OT that was not running. File specs of saved file were same as the copied file.

Don't want to shutdown running OT because I am many hours into a test. I assume if I do I will lose the results so far and have to start over. Maybe it would resume on re-start?

In that case it's ok. No need to stop your test. You can copy the file from the source if OT is open, just can't paste it to the destination if OT is open. I'm not sure why it didn't work then. Maybe post a screenshot of an example of a spread that isn't copying over.

I have used the instructions for copying OT to another computer. I first install OT and run the latest update to match the source computer. After copying over the listed files all is well except for user data. In the profile with user data the focus list is populated but trying to chart it gives the message that the symbol is not in the data base. I can manually go to user data and reselect and add it.

Is there another file that contains the user data info so the data is connected to the focus list?

No, it's the symbols32.mdb database that contains the pointers. But if the user data is not in the exact folder location with same structure as the source machine, it won't work.

Aha! Source computer path: \Windows (C:)\User Data
Clone computer path: \Local (C:)\User data
