Barry - I noticed in your response to Daniel Wilson (https://www.omnitrader.com/currentclients/otforum/thread-view.asp?threadid=16418&posts=5), you included a snapshot showing "My Symbols" rather than "All Analyzed Symbols." I was surprised to see the result matched the "All Analyzed Symbols" which Tom Helget has pointed out is necessary to select in the other "ATM 4 RS Boost" thread (https://www.omnitrader.com/currentclients/otforum/printer-friendly.asp?threadid=16411). So, I ran the experiment to compare "All Analyzed Symbols" vs "My Symbols" and discovered that both produce the same result (see snapshots below). I don't think they should produce the same result, because not all (maybe none) of the OmniScan "ATM RS Boost" stocks are in the "My Symbols" list. So, what's going on?

ALL ANALYZED SYMBOLS:

MY SYMBOLS:

This is the correct behavior in the case of ATM RS Boost because as a result of ATM4's enhancement, the list is specifically controlled by the method. This makes that Port Sim list selection setting irrelevant.

Barry:

Thanks for that clarification!

And sorry if I misled anyone previously.

Barry - I agree with Tom. Thanks for the clarification.

Tom - You didn't mislead me. That was what I thought/assumed based on past PortSim behavior. You had thoroughly described the things to be checked, so I referenced your post.

SteveL:

The reason for my insistence on All Analyzed Symbols was based on a question to Jeff Drake during a webinar wherein he agreed that My Symbols shouldn't have been insisted on in the ARM RS Boost tutorial at the Nirvana Store.

My reasoning for that was that the results of the ATM RS Boost OmniScan are only shown in All Analyzed Symbols List.

But since the ATM Method in its HighFlyers Market State Symbols Tab is directly referencing the ATM RS Boost OmniScan it would now seem to be inconsequential whether All Analyzed Symbols or My Symbols is selected in the Portfolio Simulation Settings Trade Source Drop Down Box.
