Here is an overview of the steps required to setup Integrated Brokerage in OmniTrader. There should be an “Important Communications” insert in the OT package which outlines this also.
1) First sign up for Integrated Brokerage and Agree to the terms and conditions:
http://www.nirvanasystems.com/integratedbrokerage/
2) The customer should then receive the CD Key for Integrated Brokerage by email. Register the Key using Help-> Registration …
You should then see the name “Brokerage Module” in the Help->About screen.
3) Go the Integrated Brokerage install link: http://www.omnitrader.com/currentclients/downloads/item.asp?Prodcode=690
and install the Plug-In files. Restart OT. Afterwards you should see:
a) The “Brokerage Users Guide” under your Help->Manuals list
b) 3 new Trade Plans under Edit->Trade Plans …: Default – Broker, Partial Exit – Broker, and Trailing Stop – Broker
c) Edit->Broker Settings, you will now see Interactive Brokers and MB Trading as choices when you select the Add button.
4) Go to the Nirvana Install Page for MB or IB:
https://www.nirvanasystems.com/intbrokerclientinstalls/
and install either the MB Trading Navigator or the Interactive Broker TWS install. Currently these are the only 2 brokers supported, but we plan to add more. It is important to install from this link and not from the IB or MB Trading website!
The version of their software that will execute correctly is stored on our site. Choosing a newer version or updating your broker app after install can cause communication problems between the broker and OmniTrader. If you already have the broker app installed, you should uninstall it and install from the Nirvana website.
5) Once you have your username and password for your brokerage account, use the Add button and enter the information under Edit->Broker Settings. At this point you will see that name show up as a pull down choice for Broker in the Orders & Alerts tool bar. See the instructions for configuring the MB Trading Navigator or the Integrated Broker TWS in the Brokerage User Guide under your Help->Manuals list.
