Follow these instructions to fix it: 1. Browse to the C:\Program Files\Nirvana\OT200# folder & run the program called register.exe. It's the one with a triangle icon rather than the notepad icon. Everything should Pass with no Failed messages. After it finishes and if no files fail then try to open OmniTrader. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ***If any files fail with a red failed message skip to STEP 5 otherwise continue to STEP 2.*** ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Right-click the OmniTrader icon & select Properties. Click the Compatibility tab if you have one. If you are on Window's XP make sure nothing is checked in this tab. If you have Window's 2000 the compatibility mode should be set to Window's 2000. 3. Install the latest OT update even your even if you already ran it. Click on your Start Menu/Programs/OmniTrader 200#/OmniTrader Updater & you'll be taken to the update page. If it asks to select Repair, Modify, or Remove, click Repair. Then try starting OT. 4. If it still does not open we may need to reinstall Microsoft .Net in which case you will want to contact our support staff. 5. If the following file fails we need to install your Crystal Reports: C:\Program Files\Nirvana\OT200#\Dlls\OTReportingEngine200#.dll If any other files fail continue to STEP 6. Install Crystal Reports. Place your OmniTrader CD in the CD-ROM drive. When the welcome screen appears click Browse this CD. When the explorer window opens open the Utils folder followed by the folder Crystal Reports .Net 2.0. Run the file called CRRedist2005_x86.msi. Walk through the install and restart your computer when it finishes. Now try STEP 1 again. If any other files fail continue to STEP 6. 6. If you are not familiar or uncomfortable with editing the Windows Registry, please contact support, otherwise: Click Start | Run, type regedit, & click OK. If you are running on Window's 2000 use the regedt32 command instead. Open the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT folder & scroll down to the Record folder. It will be quite a ways down the list. Right-click the Record folder & click Permissions. For each group in the list (I.E. Administrators, Creator Owner, Power Users, ect...) make sure there are checks next to Full Control & Read under Allow. You can skip Creator Owner since it won't save it's setting. Once all the groups have been set click Apply then OK. Now close the registry editor. Now try STEP 1 again. If any files still fail please continue on to STEP 2. |
