Yesterday I installed the new TP 4D (as well as the current IB Gateway version). Last night I went to shut down the TP and saw a new dialog box (AFAIK).
"The Trade Processor will submit enabled orders immediately if restarted within the configured trading hours."
I checked the settings dialogs and didn't see any new controls wrt this behavior.
So what I think this means is that I can shut down TP without fear of any order processing occurring immediately. But I should be aware that if I restart TP during the order submission window, pending (active) orders will be immediately placed without user confirmation.
So if I anticipate restarting during order submission hours, and think I might not want orders immediately placed, I might want to disable all pending orders before quitting TP (???).
Correct?
(I typically shut down TP and IBG on Friday afternoon so I can run windows update, java update, and avoid the IB shutdowns the happen Friday night. Then I restart TP/IBG Sunday evening, outside the order submission window. So I don't think any of this applies to me...)
Thanks
Keith

Yes, that's exactly what it means. You described it perfectly.

I recently had a trade rejected by TP for the following reason.
"Broker: Order rejected - reason: Not allowed to open a position: RejectIfOpening"
What does this mean ?

James, that's a specific broker rejection message from IB, so I don't have that information. If you contact IB, they should be able to give you details about it if you can tell them the symbol & date/time.
