A. There is a special protocol needed called FIX (Financial Information eXchange) that allows the communications necessary for broker connectivity to run on our servers. This solution does not require broker applications, such as MB Desktop Pro or TWS, to be running at the same time. This FIX protocol is what Nirvana uses for our broker server connectivity. This means that you can run your Trade Processor without needing to install anything on your computer. Essentially it runs in the cloud, & users are able to log into the OmniVest website to manage it. 1. GXTrader GXTrader can be connected through the Desktop TP or through the web based Trade Processor inside OmniVest. Once connected, either method may be used to make changes or make trading decisions. Information for IB users: See Announcement! 2. MB Trading MB trading can be connected through the Desktop TP or through the web based Trade Processor inside OmniVest. Once connected, either method may be used to make changes or make trading decisions. 3. Trade King With Trade King, there is no Desktop TP needed. It is all done through the web based Trade Processor inside OmniVest. 4. Interactive Brokers IB currently does not allow 3rd party applications to use FIX to directly interface with their IB accounts. As a result, TWS or IB Gateway are required applications to make the connection to TP, & therefore cannot run on Nirvana's servers. However, IB does allow FIX through separate broker relationships.
